I am two weeks away from ending my second trimester. Seems like just yesterday I was calling Matt into the bathroom to show him the pregnancy test. It's been an adventurous six months filled with new beginnings and emotions. I have to admit the 'pregnancy hormones' seem to have poked its head this last week or so. One minute I find myself emotional and want to cry while the next I am rediculously irritated and want to scream. In fact, Thursday night while watching Grey's Anatomy the channel started acting up and kept freezing. I got so angry by the third time that I had to literally ask Matt to take the water bottle I was holding out of my hands, because I was going to throw it at the tv set. Thankfully my rational thinking is somewhat still in tact.
Yesterday I truly got to understand the concept that children imitate what they see. At work four little girls decided to play 'house' and all be mothers. At the time the boys had huddled into a corner playing games and the volume level of the room was quite low. I decided to take the opportunity to finish up some prep work. While I was colouring chicks (yes sometimes my job involves colouring) I looked up at the four girls. They all had chosen a doll and stuck them up their shirts. They were pretending to be pregnant and have a baby tummy like I do. All I could do was smile at the sight and take in the pure gem moment of it all.
Braden at this point decided that it was jamboree time in mommy's tummy. I told the children that he was kicking and before I knew it I had about 6 hands on my stomach trying to feel Braden. They seem very excited about my pregnancy and ask daily how big the baby is. I had one six-year-old girl come up to me and say "Melina are you aware the baby is going to come out of your vagina?" Then I had a boy tell me "The baby has to drink a special milk that will come from your boobies for awhile after it is born." Try keeping a straight face when this happens!
